Baptism
Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obeyeverything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
What is Baptism?
Baptism is an outward expression of your inward faith in Jesus Christ. It represents a powerful spiritual reality: your old life apart from Christ has died, and you have been raised to a new life in Him. Being immersed in water symbolizes being buried with Christ, and coming up out of the water signifies resurrection into a new identity as a follower of Jesus (Romans 6:3–4).
Baptism doesn’t save a person—faith in Jesus Christ alone does that. Baptism is a visible declaration that God has already done an invisible work of grace in your heart. It is a step of obedience and a testimony of your desire to follow Jesus.
Who Can Be Baptized?
We practice believer’s baptism, meaning baptism is for those who have personally repented of their sin and placed their faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. In the New Testament, baptism always follows belief (Acts 2:38; Acts 8:12). Candidates should be able to articulate their faith and understand the meaning of baptism.
How to Get Baptized
Express Interest – Let us know you’re interested in being baptized.
Meet with a Pastor or Leader – We’ll talk with you to confirm your faith in Christ and ensure you understand what baptism means.
Preparation & Planning – Our team will work with you to schedule the baptism, coordinate logistics, and provide practical instructions.
Optional Testimony – You’ll be invited (but not required) to share your faith story publicly. Many find this meaningful and encouraging.
4. Baptism Day – During the service, you’ll respond to three affirmations:
1. Do you renounce the world, the flesh, and the devil?
2.Do you confess that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior?
3.Do you commit to following Him for the rest of your life?
If answered affirmatively, we then baptize the candidate in the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit—celebrating with them as they do!
Child Dedication
At our church, child dedication is a meaningful moment where parents commit themselves and their children to Jesus. It’s not a baptism, but a public declaration that children are a gift from God—created in His image and in need of a Saviour. Parents commit to following Jesus and to raising their children in His ways, asking for God’s blessing, guidance, and grace. Rooted in Scriptures like Deuteronomy 6 and Ephesians 6, this act also invites our whole church family to support and pray for these families as we raise the next generation to know and love Jesus.
